In Ontario, Naturopathic Doctor’s fees are not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health care plans have Naturopathic coverage. Contact your employer or insurance agent to inquire about your Naturopathic coverage.
If you do not have insurance coverage or are self-employed, consider getting a Health Spending Account. These ‘bank accounts’ can be used exclusively for financing health related expenses. The benefits can include coverage of services from traditional health insurance as well as others that may not typically qualify such as Naturopathic Medicine, the cost of vitamins and supplements, audiologists, psychologists, and a broad range of other medical services.
Don’t let a limited insurance coverage prevent you from receiving Naturopathic care. How much money do you spend on gas, groceries, or clothes? Make your health a priority as well. The investment you put into your health now will benefit you for a lifetime.
